The Barbican

A truly spectacular home was sought after by our clients who were after an exterior resembling the rambling shingle style houses of old with an interior more contemporary and eclectic.

The entry turret holds a circular staircase that brings you to a master bedroom suite complete with an expansive sleeping porch overlooking the entrance to Pemaquid Harbor.

Clerestory windows top a second turret which is just off the ‘Morning Room’ and kitchen

Inspired by an image of a circular stone staircase leading to the wine cellar in a European castle, the owners leaned toward renaissance period details, such as this carved newel post with custom iron flourishes dancing up a spiral staircase.

A home theater complete with faux finishes, heavy fabric treatments and an antique popcorn machine lend style and comfort. A wine cellar and tasting room lies just next door with custom ironwork gracing its entrance.

Views are enjoyed on the craftsman-style porch just off Pemaquid Point on a hazy summer afternoon.

Flared shingle roof lines, turrets, dramatic staircases, sail vaulted ceilings and carvings highlight a very dramatic and unique home. With so much to offer, one may never want to leave!
